Sight-singing Classes

Three sight-singing classes will be offered this season:

   Beginning: September 17 - October 22, 6 classes, fee $48
   Intermediate: January 7, 2004 - February 11, 5 classes, fee $40
   Advanced: March 31 - May 12, 7 classes, fee $56
       plus cost of materials (tbd)

Classes held on Wednesdays from 6:30 - 7:40 p.m. at St. Peter's Episcopal Church. Registration and payment in full will be required at the first class. For details please contact the chorus at [email protected] or 510-207-4093.


Styles Sampler

Saturday, October 18, 2003, 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The Styles Sampler is an opportunity to explore a variety of musical styles, taught by experts in those styles. We focus on learning new singing techniques, rhythm, and just having fun exploring something new. The styles sampler will be held at St. Peter's Episcopal Church. The fee is $25 in advance, or $30 at the door; lunch will be provided.

Our speakers were:

Monica Norcia, teacher of the Alexander Technique and voice instructor at Holy Names College.

Terrance Kelly, artistic director of the Oakland Interfaith Gospel Choir.

William Mahrt, Associate Professor of Music at Stanford University, and a specialist in early music, who will be discussing plain chant and motets.

Ticket prices are $25 in advance, $30 at the door. Lunch will be provided.


Discovery Day

Mozart's Mass in C Minor, led by Tony Pasqua

Saturday, January 31, 2004, 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

A singing exploration of this major choral work led by guest scholar and conductor Tony Pasqua.  The registration fee is $25 in advance, $30 at the door.
